About Us

Constructing Excellence Regions are represented on the Board of Constructing Excellence and also operate together as part of a ground breaking collaboration between the regional and national centres of Constructing Excellence under the Built Environment Improvement Network (BEIN). Further details here.

Our Mission

An integrated partnership for change

Both Constructing Excellence South West and Future Foundations (formerly separate organizations) are working in an integrated partnership  in the region to identify and embed best practice and emerging agendas for sustainable construction  into the regional construction activities. This is achieved by coordinated action working with a wide range of regional and national partners. We aim with them to be an ‘honest broker’ for change.

We form partnerships with others, including beyond the region,  to achieve bespoke activities where genuine improvement can be achieved for the region.

Fair and Ethical

We are particularly concerned to help shape the industry in such a way that all who participate, from the small local builder to the large national contractor the individual customer to the national client are respected and treated in a fair and ethical way and we encourage all to adopt such practices.

Smart Strategies

We also aim always to operate efficiently and effectively and have a track record of developing smart strategies to meet industry needs and gaps with minimal resource, where improvement can be achieved not just for one individual organisation but for the industry as a whole. We also link with the research community.

An Information hub

A major part of our role is to help the construction industry absorb the many changes being asked of it due to the economic and global sustainable issues which are most evident and pressing. To this end our website seeks to gather useful guidance and links in one place and act as a ‘one-stop shop’ and signpost for the construction industry in the region.
